| Perhaps
the single most important element of any African safari is the
selection of the guide to escort you on your voyage of discovery.
At Tanzania Photographic, we pride ourselves on the excellence
of our professional guides.
Each and every member of the guiding corps undergoes yearly training
with Eco-Training Limited, for internationally recognised Professional
Safari Guide Qualifications. Above and beyond this technical knowledge
we ensure that all staff are fully competent mechanics and licensed
to carry firearms. It is our proud boast that our guides are fully
equipped to meet all “bush” eventualities.
Of course,
we recognise the need for specialisation when it comes to escorting
guests around the complexity of Tanzania’s eco-systems and
encourage our staff to take their knowledge to the next level.
Whether you
travel with Renatus Mushi, who grew up in the Serengeti, mentored
by such safari
legends as Hugo Van Lawick, Jane Goodal and Peter Mathiessen;
with Maasai Raymond Olekosyando, a self taught veterinarian and
animal behaviourist; or with Roman Shirima whose earliest memory
aged four is of the first ever safari to pass through his home
town of Rombo, who speaks five languages and specialises in ornithology,
we are confident that our guests will be escorted by the most
suitable and knowledgeable Professional Guide available.
Also critical
to the success of our operation are the vehicles we use. Our 14
vehicle fleet is comprised entirely of Toyota Landcruisers. None
of the vehicles was manufactured before 2001 and all are customised
to our own high standards including long range fuel tanks
