Roman
Shirima Desderius
Roman is one of our most popular guides. A chagga from Rombo,
one of the last of the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, Roman remembers
the first ever safari to pass through his village when aged four.
A lifetime on safari and in tourism has allowed Roman to teach
himself Italian and French, in addition he speaks English and
Kiswahili. Currently about to embark on a five-year wildlife management
qualification Roman is a superb example of the modern Tanzanian
Safari guide.
Lucas
John Mahina
Born and raised amongst the Maasai by civil service employee parents,
Lucas was educated in Nairobi at Strathmore School and via a British
correspondence course. An early interest in wildlife has drawn
Lucas back time and again to Tarangire his favourite place to
study his first love, ornithology and the hoopoe in particular.
Extensive Tanzania Photographic sponsored training means that
Lucas is supremely qualified to escort guests around the beauties
of Tanzania.
Pallangyo
Elibariki
Born in to the Maasai sub tribe of the waMeru at a village called
Singisi, Pallangyo has been involved in
the tourism business for almost 20 years. Given the choice January
of each and every year will find Pallangyo
at Lake Ndutu, in his opinion the most beautiful time of year
for this stunning piece of Africa. Possessing extraordinary general
knowledge in addition to the experience that accrues from many
years in the Bush, Pallangyo
is a great asset to any trip.
Zelothe
Emanuel
With over 20 years of experience in Professional Guiding Zelothe
is one of Tanzania Photographic’s longest serving guides.
Upon leaving school Zelothe took to studying after work before
taking courses in wildlife qualifications at the world-renowned
Mweka College and at the Africa School of Wildlife Management.
Zelothe takes a special interest in the behaviour of Tanzania’s
many and varied indigenous tribes.
An enthusiast by nature, Zelothe’s passion for wildlife
stems from his belief that however much he learns there is always
more to learn around the next corner or beyond the horizon.
